With this painting, I’m inviting the viewer to wander and to imagine the scent of the soil and the sun-warmed fruit. A clear pathway leads the eye forward beneath the arching canopy of foliage, while the triangular wooden props suggest a human presence. I wanted to capture the golden hush of late afternoon- when shadows stretch across the earth and clusters of ripe grapes punctuate the green with jewel-like purples.
